Tourism and Travel Service Management Program

Where a Passion for Exploration Becomes a Profession

Why Does Our Society Need Tourism and Travel Service Management?

Tourism is widely regarded as one of the higher-level needs in human life. It typically develops when individuals’ basic and essential needs have already been satisfied. As economic conditions improve, travel becomes an increasingly preferred lifestyle choice. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a 1% increase in a country’s GDP is often associated with a 2–2.5% increase in tourism expenditure.

Despite the global challenges following the COVID-19 pandemic, both the world economy and Vietnam’s economy have continued to demonstrate resilience and growth. Notably, Vietnam maintained positive economic growth even during the pandemic period. As economic conditions continue to improve, demand for both domestic and international travel has expanded significantly.

The tourism sector has also shown a strong recovery in recent years. International tourist arrivals to Vietnam increased from 3.66 million visitors in 2022 to 17.6 million visitors in 2024, reaching nearly 98% of pre-pandemic levels, and further rising to 21.5 million visitors in 2025. However, the industry continues to face a shortage of highly qualified professionals, particularly as international arrivals increase and demand grows for premium travel experiences such as luxury cruise tourism. These developments highlight the urgent need for well-trained professionals in Tourism and Travel Service Management.
