Academic Workshop: "Data Processing and Scientific Writing" for Culinary and Nutrition Students
On December 6, 2025, the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) hosted a specialized workshop titled "Data Processing and Scientific Writing in Culinary and Nutrition Research." Held at Hall C, the event drew over 300 students from the Food Preparation Science and Nutrition Science departments.
The workshop was designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in scientific inquiry, spanning the research lifecycle from topic identification to data analysis and academic reporting. This initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to enhancing educational quality and fostering a robust research culture.
In his keynote address, Dr. Pham Minh Luan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts, emphasized the critical importance of research competence. He noted that as food science rapidly evolves, mastering these analytical skills is essential for driving innovation in the modern culinary and service industries.

The program featured two core sessions led by distinguished experts, focusing on the technical and structural demands of scientific work:
Session 1: Standardizing the Scientific Writing Process
Speaker: Dr. Pham Van Thinh
Core Competencies: Dr. Thinh guided students through identifying research problems, structuring formal reports, and mastering literature search and citation methods.
Impact: Participants gained a clear understanding of the rigorous standards required for successful theses, capstone projects, and peer-reviewed publications.
Session 2: Data Processing Methods in Culinary and Nutrition Research
Speaker: Dr. Huynh Thai Nguyen
