Department of Tourism and Travel Management

The Department of Tourism and Travel Management was established in August 2018 and operates under the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts. With a teaching staff consisting of 3 PhD holders and 8 Master’s degree holders, the Department is responsible for training undergraduate programs in Tourism and Travel Services Management, Restaurant and Food Service Management, and Hotel Management.

 

Academic staff of the Department of Travel Management

  • The main mission of the Department is to provide instruction and manage courses within the foundation knowledge block and the major-specific knowledge block.
  • The foundation knowledge block includes the following courses: Introduction to Tourism, Tourist Psychology, Tourism Industry Documents, Fundamentals of Vietnamese Culture, and Tourism Culture.
  • The major-specific knowledge block includes the following courses: Tour Guiding Skills, Tourism Routes and Destinations, Destination Management, Ecotourism, MICE Tourism, Marine and Island Tourism, Spiritual Tourism, Tour Design and Operation, Geography of Tourism in Vietnam, etc.

In addition to teaching activities, the lecturers of the Department also place strong emphasis on scientific research, practical knowledge enhancement, and continuous improvement of training quality. The main research directions of the Department focus on:

  • Research on tourism product development.
  • Research on the development of new tourism models.
  • Research on factors influencing tourism development.
