Young Workforce in the Tourism Industry Participates in the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Bartending Competition and Showmanship

On the afternoon of April 5th, 2026, the final round of the "Ho Chi Minh City Bartending and Showmanship Competition, the 1st Edition" took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT). This is a large-scale professional competition for students in tourism, restaurant, and hotel management, aiming to honor bartending skills combined with showmanship performance art.

The competition went through a preliminary round with 76 contestants from nine universities. The organizing committee selected 45 contestants for the semi-finals, and 27 of the most outstanding contestants were chosen for the final round. At the final round, nine teams with 27 contestants delivered impressive performances with creative and confident showcasing.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, attended and presented the awards of the competition. She stated that the "The 1st Ho Chi Minh City Bartending and Showmanship Competition" is not only a platform for students to demonstrate their talents, but also serves as a bridge linking the training activities of the university with business objectives. This significant event contributes to improving the quality of training, helping students access practical professional experience, and meeting the increasingly high demands of the service industry in the context of international integration.

The final results: the first prize was won by team 6 of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the second prize was given to the team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering, and the third prize was given to Yersin University (Lam Dong province) and Ha Long University (Quang Ninh province).

Ho Chi Minh City is oriented in its tourism development towards professionalism, modernity, and international integration; therefore, training a highly skilled and creative workforce is a crucial requirement. The "Ho Chi Minh City Bartending and Showmanship Competition," organized by the Restaurant Management Department of the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, is a valuable professional activity for staff and students in Tourism and Hospitality, an opportunity for training institutions and businesses to strengthen connections and jointly develop training programs that closely match market demands.
