Joining the festive atmosphere of the Moon festival across the country, on September 23, 2026, the HUIT Travel Group successfully organized the charity program “Moon festival for Children 2026” at Co Mai Shelter, located at 298C Binh Nham 27 Street, Lai Thieu Ward.

The program marked an emotional return of the HUIT Travel Group two years after its first visit, continuing its mission of spreading warmth, compassion, and a sense of community responsibility. The program was attended by Mr. Do Hoang Minh Lan, President of the HUIT Travel Group and Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Mai, representative of the shelter; generous benefactors; students from the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts; and many children living at Co Mai Shelter.

In the opening remarks, the representative of the Organizing Committee expressed deep emotion at returning to the shelter after two years and seeing the children growing up while still maintaining their bright and cheerful smiles. As part of the program, the Organizing Committee personally presented the children with practical and meaningful gifts, including cash donations, rice, instant noodles, pho, milk, notebooks, confectionery, and teddy bears. These gifts were made possible through the collective contributions of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts, together with generous benefactors, with the hope of providing further encouragement for the children to continue striving in their studies.

The festive atmosphere was soon filled with laughter and excitement through a series of lively performances. The program opened with the vibrant dance performance “Em Di Xem Hoi Trang Ram” performed by the HUIT Travel Group’s performance team, followed by the engaging play “Who Stole the Moon?”

One of the most touching highlights of the program was the birthday celebration organized for the children born in September, together with a heartfelt tribute to Ms. Mai, the devoted caregiver who has quietly dedicated herself to nurturing and protecting children facing difficult circumstances. Under the warm glow of candles on the birthday cake, the distance between the student volunteers and the children seemed to disappear, leaving behind the warmth and closeness of one large family.

The program concluded with a series of energetic group games, followed by a joyful lantern procession and a traditional Mid-Autumn feast under the full moon.

“Moon festival for Children 2026” not only brought a complete and heartwarming Mid-Autumn celebration to the children at Co Mai Shelter, but also provided a valuable practical learning environment for students of the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts at HUIT to develop event organization skills, coordination thinking, and a stronger sense of compassion.

As the 2026 journey came to a close, these meaningful values will continue to serve as a source of inspiration, spreading positive spirit throughout the university’s student community.
