Notice: The final round of the "Talented Chef 2026" Competition

Pursuant to Notice No. 1044/TB-DCT dated September 26, 2025, issued by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) regarding the organization of academic activities for students in the 2025 - 2026 academic year;

Pursuant to Plan No. 13/KH-KDL&AT dated October 9, 2025, by the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts regarding the implementation of academic activities for students;

Based on the preliminary round results of the "Talented Chef 2026" competition;

 

The Department of Culinary Science, Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts, hereby organizes the Final Round with the following details:

1. Time and Venue

Time: 08:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Friday, May 8, 2026.

Venue: Experimental Practice Center – Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

  • Category 1: Room G809
  • Category 2: Room G810
  • Category 3: Rooms G808 and G809

Address: 93 Tan Ky Tan Quy Street, Tan Son Nhi Ward, Tan Phu District, HCMC.

2. Participants and Format

Participants: Teams qualified for the Final Round (refer to the attached list). Candidates must join their respective Zalo groups for further instructions and competition rules.

Format: Team-based competition.

  • Category 1 & 2: 2 students per team.
  • Category 3: 4 students per team.

3. Competition Content

The "Talented Chef 2026" competition is a professional academic playground designed to inspire culinary passion and showcase student talent across three categories:

  • Category 1: Mixology & Beverage Art Candidates demonstrate creativity and service skills in the art of mixology. Requirements: Harmonious flavor, aesthetic presentation, and professional style.
  • Category 2: Cake Decoration Candidates showcase aesthetic flair and technical skills in cake decoration. Requirements: Creativity and artistic execution aligned with the designated theme.
  • Category 3: Modern Culinary Conquest Candidates prepare a complete course menu (Appetizer – Main Course – Dessert) following the "Modern Cuisine" theme.

4. Prize Structure

Awards will be presented to the outstanding teams in each category as follows:

4.1. Official Prizes (Per Category)

  • 03 First Prizes: 2,000,000 VND each.
  • 03 Second Prizes: 1,500,000 VND each.
  • 06 Third Prizes: 1,000,000 VND each.
  • 03 Consolation Prizes: 800,000 VND each.

4.2. Special Recognition Awards (Per Category)

  • 03 Innovation Awards: 800,000 VND each.
  • 03 Impression Awards: 800,000 VND each.
  • 03 Professional Style Awards: 800,000 VND each.
  • 03 Potential Talent Awards: 800,000 VND each.
